Dance For “40+” Women’s Initiative CNN ireport
New York, New York (January 14, 2014) – Adrienne Unae. a dancer, singer and actor as well as a 501©3 production company, has historically used theatre and dance to foster enhancement of social, life, impulse control and anger management skills to “underserved” and “at risk” youth and women in various parts of the world. While Adrienne Unae has committed to assist with a vocational training center as well as an English and computer training center in two East Africa (Kenya) villages, she is excited to announce a United States women’s initiative that features 25 year entertainment veteran Vic DiMonda.
John W. Engeman Theater Associate Producer, Ailey Extension faculty, and choreographer Vic DiMonda is onboard with Cougar Ball 2014 to create an original production number for this annual fundraiser which benefits The Actors Fund.
Vic DiMonda has worked on musicals for the John W. Engeman Theater such as Smokey Joe’s Cafe, Sleeping Beauty, Crazy For You, Camelot, The Sound of Music, Oliver!, and A Wonderful Life. His 25-years of experience in the entertainment/performing arts industries is openly welcomed by the Executive Directors of the Cougar Ball. Creating an original production number will not only up the ante of quality for the night’s event but give the audience a true theater experience.
The Cougar Ball is “a theatrical celebration of those over 40 by those (mostly) under 40”. and will take place at 8pm on Saturday, April 12th, 2014 at XL Nightclub, Cabaret & Lounge was created to celebrate fabulous women as they continue to get better with age in a glamorous, fun, gala setting, while contributing to the welfare of those ladies for times when life is not so fabulous.
The proceeds will benefit The Actors Fund, a national organization that provides care and service to professionals throughout the performing arts and entertainment industries, including the The Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative.”
